It is raining. I love the rain, especially if I have little to do! A warm fire and a good movie... good things.
Beau celebrated his 2nd Birthday. Both of his grandmas came to visit and he had a wonderful time! He is such a sweet boy. After his birthday we traveled to Oregon (Beau, Grandma Leah and Mommy) to visit his Great Grandparents for the first time. The visit was short and poor Beau got sick, but it was still wonderful. I love to visit grandpa, he always has a fresh loaf of bread baked.
When we got home one of our chickens quit roosting and disappeared. I thought it was strange and felt like she was still around. No sign of her for 3 weeks... Then Chris came to tell me the bad news... he found the chicken under the porch and she looks dead. He gathered himself and a garbage bag, he reached under the porch to get her from the very awkward place she chose... and she bit him... not dead what a relief. But then I panicked is she stuck? Malnourished? I got online (of course) and put a thread on a chicken forum. She is brooding (lying on eggs) but I have no rooster so it is a lost cause. I fed her and got her water, she was very happy. That was a week ago. She is showing no sign of giving up.
My Solution: I am going to place baby chicks beneath her. The feed store will get day old chicks tomorrow. I will try it in the early morning while it is still dark and hope she think a miracle happened over night. Wish me luck!
I am nearly 17 weeks into my pregnancy. Things are going great. I am eating. Over the hump of sickness and as long as my migraines stay away I am doing awesome! My hips are sore, I am seeing a local Chiropractor and I hope she can help. I really need to take a belly pic (note to self)
That is my update in a nutshell. I will post about the chickens and how my solution works out.
Cheers, B Free
